【Abstract】With the development of science and technology, educational game software takes its unique advantage in education area and continues to show great potential value. This thesis studies how to change the traditional English teaching model of primary school by using educational game software. This paper mainly adopts the questionnaire method and experimental method. The above methods can scientifically analyze the role of educational game software in primary school English vocabulary teaching and provide the theoretical basis for the research conclusion.

1. Introduction

Since the 1990s, computer technology and network technology have developed rapidly and have been widely used. In the education field, multimedia technology has been widely used since the beginning of the 21st century, so that the teaching process is no longer confined to traditional classrooms. At present, under the strong advocacy of education, it is more and more urgent to integrate education with network technology. In this situation, how to combine education with game well, how to find a good balance between education and the game has become a new topic for scholars at home and abroad in recent years. This topic is based on two inevitable reasons, the integration of learning and games has always been a concept advocated by many scholars, especially education.

2. Conceptual Definition and Theoretical Basis

2.1 The definition of educational game software

Educational game is a kind of serious games, which focus on games educational and developmental quality. And it is based on the game as a means of education, having the characteristics of paying equal attention to educational and entertaining. When designing the game, they use the mature theory of education as the theoretical support to make a balance between education and gameplay, so that we can realize the educational process through the way of game.

2.2 The feasibility of application of educational game software in primary school English teaching

The characteristics of physical and mental development of primary school students are conducive to the introduction of primary English education. From the point of characteristics of students physical and mental development, primary school stage is the golden age of language development and absorption. Therefore, it is a great opportunity for children to learn English in primary school. Introducing educational game software into primary school English education meets the teaching objectives and learning requirements of primary English. The ministry of education makes the requirement for English teaching. Moreover, the primary school English curriculum aims to arouse the students interest in English learning, to cultivate the positive attitude of English learning. They make them establish initial confidence of learning English and cultivate students sense of language, good pronunciation and intonation. It can make them develop the ability of daily communication in English, and lay the foundation for further study. From which we can see that the key point of primary school English teaching is to arouse the students interest in learning English. The final trainings direction is to cultivate students comprehensive application of English ability.

3. Conclusion

The educational game software has been greatly applied in the English teaching. Nevertheless, in the process of practical operation needs to choose the appropriate teaching implementation plan and adjusts the games degree of difficulty. Otherwise, learners will focus on the fun factor and ignore the learning of core content.

Through the study of this period, the author deeply feels the powerful charm of educational game software in the primary school English teaching. However, it will make great efforts to popularize the educational game software into English vocabulary teaching in primary school. Exam-oriented educational system of the traditional concept of education and the shortage of the existing educational game software limit the educational game softwares application in the primary school English teaching, so that it cannot realize the combination of educational game software with English teaching perfectly at the present stage.

We expect people with lofty ideals from all sectors of society can join this study, and make unremitting efforts for the students to study happily and promote their physical and moral health.
