中国人民大学在2009年中国教育部的学科评估中，有以下7个学科排名全国第一：【理论经济学】【应用经济学】【法学】【社会学】【政治学】【马克思主义理论】【新闻传播学】;此外，【哲学】和【图书馆、情报与档案管理学】排名全国第二，【管理学】排名全国第三。排名第1的学科在全国人文社会科学领域总数第一。

Renmin University of China is the first modern university founded by People’s Republic of China. Located in Beijing, RUC is the most famous university in China among humanities and social sciences area.

In 2009’s governmental appraisal of key disciplines of national institutions of higher education organized by the Ministry of Education, seven disciplines of the RUC rank top among all national institutions of higher education in the Humanities and Social Sciences. These disciplines are: Theoretical Economics; Applied Economics; Law; Sociology; Journalism and Communication; Political Science; Marxism Theory.
