Difference between Chinese and American Social Life
The United States being the one and only superpower,and China the largest developing country,there are many differences between them,and we can find quite a lot of expression differences in social life as well。
A story goes like this。One day,an American woman and a Chinese woman were walking in the street,they were both dressed in hat and skirt。A strong gust came suddenly。The American woman covered her hat in case her hat wouldn’t be blown away,but the Chinese woman covered her skirt in case her legs would not be shown。That’s one cultural difference。China is a country with 5,000 years of civilization,the conservative ideas can’t change in one day。And the United States is a young country,it is changeable and open-minded。
There are reasons behind every life style。Some Americans say that Chinese people are so impolite:they never follow rules when waiting in line and spit everywhere。
Their censure is right,but they don’t know why the Chinese people do that。China is a developing country with a population of over 1。5 billion。There are too many people,and they have to wait to do everything。This really annoyed some of them,so they break rules。They don’t want to be polite to everybody because it will be too tiresome。For Americans,there are fewer people in their country,they don’t have to meet people when they get out of the door in the morning。Meanwhile they are not worried that their breakfast would be sold out and have to go to work with an empty stomach。
There is nothing wrong for either side。As global citizens,we should learn to be open to everybody and everything。
