英语翻译The YRD is a major destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) and is becoming increasingly popular among foreign investors in recent years.FDI inflow rose by about 37% in 2002 to reach US$17.8 billion,which is about one-third of China’s total.In the first eleven months of 2003,utilised foreign capital amounted to US$22.7 billion,an increase of 50.6% from the same period in 2002.So far,Hong Kong is the largest source of FDI in the YRD,followed by Taiwan,Japan,and the US.There are about 80,000 foreign-invested companies in Shanghai,Zhejiang and Jiangsu as at end-2002,with accumulated investment of more than US$150 billion.Major foreign investors in the YRD include General Motors,Shell,Matsushita,Exxon,Siemens,Sony,Volvo,Alcatel,and LG etc.Many of them have even set up their regional headquarters in the YRD,such as Siemens,AMD and General Electric.Among various cities in the YRD,foreign investment is concentrated in Shanghai and Suzhou,with a combined actual FDI accounting for 55% of the total.However,FDI inflow is beginning to spread more evenly from Shanghai and Suzhou to other YRD cities in the past few years.Foreign investment in the YRD is mainly engaged in manufacturing activities,including the manufacture of computers,mechanical and electrical products,hardware and chemical products etc.However,foreign investment has increasingly been channelled into services industries in recent years.Given China’s WTO commitment to further liberalise its services sector,an increasing share of FDI is expected to go into the services sector in the coming years.Relocation of high-tech industries to the YRD is particularly prominent.In particular,many Taiwan businesses started to shift their high-tech products manufacturing to the YRD region since 2001 and Taiwan’s investment in Shanghai,Jiangsu and Zhejiang increased drastically by 124% in 2002.Taiwan’s high-tech investment is concentrated in Kunshan ,Suzhou,and Wuxi,of which many of these companies are engaged in the manufacture of IT products and high-tech electronics such as PCs,semiconductors,integrated circuits,digital cameras and LCD monitors etc.十万火急,PS:YRD指长三角
