How do you define “war” and do you think war can be avoided

There are many definitions of war。One of the popular definitions is "the waging of armed conflict against an enemy" when a legal state creates the war condition by a declaration of war and ended by official declaration during which the international rules of war apply。In modern world,there are countless ways to avoid a war if the government doesn't want to get involved in a military conflict。First of all,wars are not popular in nowaday society。For example,governments have seen the consequences of wars,so they don't want to start a war。For example,the Cold War is not a hot war since the governments try to avoid military conflict。Another example is that the majority of US citizens are against the Iraqi War and Afghanistan War。Secondly,war is an aggressive method to solve conflicts。If governments can cooperate with each other,the tension between nations can be reduced and wars can be avoided。Thirdly,the United Nations is a powerful force that can stop military conflict from taking place。It has been sending peace keeping troops to many areas in the world to keep peace。There are many other ways to stop wars。If the government don't want to get involved in a war,there are always ways to avoid it。
