语法疑问：The better friends you're,the more probably you'll have disagreements。两个句子怎么可以连用?the more 是什么成份?答：这个问题有深度。一般人只记它是一个the more。。。,the more。。。(越。就越。）句型,从不bother 去分析其句子成分。是的,逗号不能连接两个简单句,分号可以,当然连词可以。一如：The first time I saw her,I fell in love with her。这句子一样。我们看不到连词,只看到两个句子,用了逗号连接。这怎么可以呢?语法学家的任务是：将它纳入语法系统中去。说the first time,the moment,the minute ,这些名词词组,加上directly,immediately 这两个原本的副词,都可以当连词来用,相当于：when。。。for the first time (第一个）,及as soon as 。,(后四个）,引导时间状语从句!同理,the more。。。,the more 。,句型,有越。,就越。的意思。认为第一个句子是从句,相当于一个条件状语从句：if。more 。。。,那么,就可以将the more (形容词或副词的比较级）当成连词：=If you are better friends,you'll more probably have disagreements。越好的朋友,更可能会争论--》如果你们是较好的朋友,你们就更有可能会意见不一致。（争论）这个问题还可以再深入一些：the more。。。,the more。。。句型中的the是定冠词吗?冠词后面不是应该跟名词的吗?这是一个好问题,相信大多数TX没想过。记得张道真的语法书上曾经说过,现查《Longman》：the 2 adv。1。(used before eacho of a pair of comparative adjectives or adverbs,to show that 2 things increase or decrease together):The more he has the more he wants。2。(used before a comparative adjective or adverb,to mean) in or by that; on that account;,in or by so much;in some degree:He's had a holiday and looks the better for it。你看,词典上也只讲到了the是副词!并没有提到连词!
