at first和at the beginning of我总是弄混怎么区别?比如后面第二句话要接but的话怎么办?

1。at first“刚开始的时候/起初”,它一般用于描述一件事情的发展的前后进程,而且强调事情发展的前后特点不一致,且用于过去时居多。所以,其后经常会出现转折词but。如：At first I thougt English hard to learn。But after my hard work,I find it's easy。2。at the beginning of。。。意思是“在。。。刚开始的时候”,它只描述事情的起初情况,并不强调后来的情况与开始时相反,当然用but来表示后面情况相反也是可以的,但也可以表明事情发展的顺承/一致关系。上述例句你用at the beginning (of。。。)也是可以的。但下面的例句就不能用at first了：At the beginning of the concert,fans were very excited。Later they were almost mad。
