There are lots of places of interest ____ in our citya.needs repairing b.needing to be repaired选B,为什么A不对?不是need sth doing/ to be done吗?为什么need后要加ing形式呢?

一个句子中只能有一个谓语,如果选择A则一个句子中出现了两个谓语。即there are和need,所以这里need要用needing,这样作为一个动词的现在分词形式来修饰places of interest。可以变为:There are lots of places of interest which need to be repaired in our city。"needing"作为一个后置定语。
