或者是提问“这是什么水果”，What kind of fruit is this? 

回答都是This is an apple。

为什么是an apple而不是a apple呢？因为,apple是可数名词,所以使用单数时前面要加冠词a/an或定冠词the ；apple首字母是原音,所以用an。
