need的用法是什么？

一、用作情态动词

need做为情态动词一般用于否定和疑问句中。否定句在need后加not，变为疑问句将need置于句首。

1。 通常用在疑问句、否定句中，或与条件句whether, hardly, nobody等连用。

   need+do，否定needn’t +do

   Need he go so soon? 他这么快就要走吗?

   He needn’t go．他不必走。

2。 need引导的疑问句，肯定回答要用must。

   —Need I hand it in right now? 我需要现在就交吗?

   —Yes, you must．是的，需要现在交。

   —No, you needn’t．不，不需要现在交。

3。 need have done 的否定式或疑问式，表示“本来不必做某事，但事实上却做了”。

   You needn’t have helped me because I could make it。

   你本没必要帮我的，我自己可以做到。 

二、用作实义动词

1、语法结构：sb。+need+sth。,意思为“需要。。。某物”。如：

   I need some help。 我需要一些帮助。(肯定句)

   Do you need more money? 你需要更多的钱吗？（疑问句）

2、语法结构：sb。+need+to do sth。,意思为“需要做。。。。,有必要做。。。”。如：

   I need to sleep。 我需要睡会儿觉。

   I need to make a phone call。我要打个电话。

   Do I need to go at once? 我需要马上走吗？

3、语法结构：sb。+need+sth。 to do sth。，意思是“需要。。。做某事”。如：

   I need you to help me。 我需要你来帮助我。

   He needs time to do homework。他需要时间做他的家庭作业。

4、语法结构：sth。+need doing = sth。+need to be done,意思是“(东西)必须被。。。”。如：

   The house needs cleaning。 = The house needs to be cleaned。 这房子需要打扫。

   The TV needs mending。  = The TV needs to be mended。  电视需要修理了。

三、用作名词 

1、语法结构：in (gread) need of,意思为“需要、急需”。如：

   Are you in need of help? 你需要帮助吗？

   We are in great need of Grade A。我们急需一等品。

   We are in great need of some English novels。我们急需一些英文小说。

2、语法结构：meet sb's needs,意思为“满足某人的需要”。如：

   In the next five years, we will resolutely advance the reform of the public finance system, so that people's money will be better spent to meet their needs。

   在今后5年，我们要下决心推进财政体制改革，让人民的钱更好地为人民谋利益。

3、语法结构：There is no need to do sth。,意思是“没有必要做。。。”,如：

   There’s no need for you to wait。你不需要去等待。

   There is no need to go so early。 何必去那么早。

   There is no need to immerge further into this topic。 没必要再深钻这个题目了。

拓展内容：needn't have done是做了……而本不必做（表示过去发生过的事，事实上没有必要）

I need not have got up so early。 我本来不必那么早起床的(但事实上已早起床)。
