请教高手：...during the period that he or she is contagious句中为什么用

个人感觉可以的 而且when还比during the period that更简洁^^ 再问： 。。。。。during the period that he or she is contagious是定语从句还是同位语从句，若是定语从句，period指时间，应该用“when”，从句只缺状语，不能用that，that是关系代词，如果用“that”，那么that在从句做什么成份？
