return的用法和搭配

return可作为动词也可作为名词，其常见用法和搭配主要有：

1、return作为动词分为及物动词和不及物动词。

return作为及物动词主要有3种含义。

(1)意为“归还;送回”，固定搭配：return to 归还...;选出

(2)意为“回报;回答”。

例如：Do something for somebody without expecting anything in return. 为他人做事不期望获得任何回报。

(3)意为“获得;产生利润”。

例如：How much risk you're willing to accept for a given potential return is a determination you'll have to make for yourself. 对于一个潜在收益，你将承受多大的风险这取决于你自己的决定。

return作为不及物动词有三种含义。

(4)意为“回”，固定搭配：return from

例如：That could take some of the steam out of China's nascent recovery, and with it a return in healthy demand for oil. 这可能削弱中国刚刚开始的经济复苏的一部分动力，同时阻碍原油需求回归正常水平。

(5)意为“重新发生;恢复”。

例如：Every five minutes, he returned to the same subject. 每过5分钟他就会重提同一个话题。

(6)意为“退回”。

例如："If this is proved to be the case, they have got to return that money. I cannot allow this to continue, " he said. 他说：“若对其指控获得证实，则他们必须归还这些钱。我不能允续这样的事情继续下去”。

2、return作为名词，主要有3种含义。

(1)意为“回来”。

(2)意为“回报”。

例如：He expected no return when he decided to save me. 他救我不图回报。

(3)意为“收益;利息”。

例如：While life insurance may not seem like an investment on the surface, it provides a return on your monthly payments. 表面看来人寿保险似乎不像一种投资，但投保人可以获得月度付款收益。
