It is a bit difficult to explain that。Anyhow I give you one example。I am explaining to you。我对你说。我说给你听。When these two words confuse you, bear in mind that 给 is usually used 【after】 a verb followed by the object of the action, while 对 is used 【before】a verb。Just for your reference。
