During my summer holiday in 2003, I found a part-time job as a cleaner in KFC. I did not realize that it was not an easy job before I didit. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The job was tiring and boring because I had to get up early and went to bed late. Every day I had to repeat the same work, which nearly made me mad. I almost gave it up, but finally I sticked it out until thenew semester began. The experience taught me a lesson that there is no free lunch. I have to work hard to get what I want. So the experience is very meaningful and I know the value of labour.

2003年暑假期间，我在KFC找到了一份保洁员的兼职工作。在做这份工作之前，我根本没认识到这份工作的艰辛。每天我要工作七个小时，为期三周。这份工作辛苦而且枯燥，因为我不得不早起晚睡。每天我都重复着同样的工作，这样的生活使我快要发疯了。我差点就要放弃了，但是最终我坚持下来了，直到新学期开学。这次工作经验教会了我“天下没有免费的午餐”，我要努力争取我所想要得到的。所以说那是一件非常有意义的事情，从中我认识到了劳动的价值所在。

During the summer vacation in 2003, I worked as a cleaner in the KFC. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The work was very hard and dull. It was so boring that I wanted to give it up. At that time I thought of a saying "Where there isa will, there is a way.""Never give up!" I warned myself. Finally I sticked it out. I finished the job before the new semester began. Just as the saying goes, "No pains, no gains." Now I understand the value of labour.
