没有spend to do的用法。spend doing，意思是花时间做。spend用法：spend in doing sth，spend on sth。
spend in doing in 后面接动名词
spend on sth 后面接名词或代词
例句：
I spent an hour in watching TV. 我看了一个小时的电视。
I spent ten yuan on the book. 我花了十元买这本书。
spend time doing花多少时间做某事
spend的主语必须是人，不能是物，这是我们首先必须明白的。再者，spend通常与on或（in）doing sth.连用，其中in还可以省略。它的意思是在某方面花了多少时间或花了多少钱。
但是，如果spend后接的是地点，那么就不能用on而应该用in表示在某地度过了……时光。关于这一点，极其容易出错，因此，在平常的教学中着重讲解并强调它后面跟的是某地方还是某事物。
如：Jane often spends much money on her fashionable clothes.
这个句子还可以换成另外一种表达形式： Jane often spends much money in buying her fashionable clothes.
